He delivers on his bold, decade-long vision to build Horizon Next from a 2-person group with $10MM in billings to 200-person agency servicing over 50 accounts with combined billings of $1.5B in Media investments. Gene has a proven track record of developing solutions that build brands while driving exceptional business growth– and the results have been recognized across the industry. In 2013 Gene was named in Direct Marketing News 40 under 40.
Gene effectively connects strategy, analytics and buying insights to bring a holistic view to all situations, tapping into his extensive experience across a wide range of categories: mobile gaming, retail, financial services, ecommerce, telecommunications, and packaged goods.

Cherie Calingasan is a leader whose passion for new ideas is contagious. She brings 15-years of experience and an understanding that accelerated business results can be derived from a combination of insightful strategy, innovation, and analytic rigor. She is well versed in leading accounts with national and local marketing plans, and her expertise spans across online and offline channel across a diverse range of industries, including ecommerce, financial services, retail, telecom, CPG, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Mia Cosgrove, SVP, Managing Director
Mia is a spirited and strategic leader here at Horizon with experience managing brands with multiple products. She has extensive experience with the hybrid approach of brand building, while also adeptly driving acquisition. Along with her media expertise and deep understanding of consumers and a love of marketing, her media neutral approach ensures clients marketing campaigns are truly holistic. With experience across national and local brands who are seasonally driven, and in extremely competitive categories she brings valuable insights which deliver success for clients. Since joining Horizon she has provided senior leadership on a variety of categories including travel, telecom, financial, and health & wellness.
David Besegai, SVP, Managing Director
Dave recognizes that all media is social and is driven to build integrated media plans that create vibrant conversations and impact brands. He embraces that in cross-channel, cross border world ideas drive conversations and we must move beyond just data to understand real insight that generates great ideas. He has directed creative and media teams across an exciting list of categories that include mobile gaming, financial, pharmaceutical, health, and telecommunications.
Mike O’Connor, SVP, Activation
Mike leads an investment team of 45 charged with driving down cost and maximizing target efficiency. He and his team utilize a suite of proprietary pricing, target & attribution tools to drive positive business results for our clients. Over his 16 year career, Mike has worked in both DR and general market buying at several agencies across a diverse portfolio of accounts covering ecommerce, theatrical, retail and consumer packaged goods. Mike spent his first five years at Horizon as VP, Director of National TV managing clients like Capital One and Vonage among others. In 2014 he was tapped to oversee investment for Horizon Next, leading integration across General & Direct marketing activation. As Senior Vice President of Investment, Mike leverages his unique experience across the total Video landscape to drive client results.
Katie Comerford, SVP, Digital
Katie is a dynamic leader who lives and breathes all things digital. She brings a wealth of branding and acquisition experience having worked across a broad range of clients including Travel Services, Finance, Entertainment, Retail, Tech and ecommerce.
Katie thrives on the constant evolution of digital Media and bringing emerging and new opportunities to her clients to solve business needs. Her experience has been rooted in digital throughout her career with a background in strategy, planning, activation, ad technology, data & analytics, search and social. Katie’s work has been awarded an Effie, Media Plan of the Year Award, Journal of Financial Advertising and Marketing Award, Cable Fax Best of the Web, and a W3 award for Integrated Media Campaigns.
Philip Weissman, SVP, Business Intelligence and Analytics
Phil is charged with ensuring that data can help power all that we do. He brings over 10 years of experience in marketing analytics and provides a combination of quantitative rigor and marketing savvy. Phil is an inventor of a patent pending methodology for an iterative process for large scale marketing spend optimization. Prior to joining Horizon Media Phil held senior analytic positions at MarketShare where he was the VP of modeling methodology, at Analytic Partners where he was the Senior Scientist, and at Lehman Brothers where he was a VP in quantitative research.
